Gluten-free Italian Sweets

We will start off with a Neapolitan classic: torta Caprese, an aromatic cake made with almonds and chocolate. We will prepare some Pasticcini al caffè (chewy coffee cookies) for our elevensies, then bake a glistening Torta ricotta e frutti rossi (berries and ricotta cake). We’ll then travel to Siena with a batch of festive Ricciarelli (soft almond cookies), and finally we will treat ourselves with Croccante, the unmissable Italian treat found in all village fairs.

Skill level

This class is suitable for beginner with little or no experience of baking as well as more experienced bakers looking for some Italian inspiration.

What’s included

Ingredients, consumables and access to all necessary baking tools and equipment, a quick lunch with wine and refreshments throughout the day. You do not need to bring anything with you other than a large container or a bag to take home some of your delicious bakes.

If you have any questions about this class, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Allergies

Although we will be baking gluten-free sweets in this class, we cannot prevent cross-contamination as the facility is shared with other chefs and users. We will also be using dairy products, eggs, nuts, seeds, sulphites, gelatine, celery, and other known allergens, therefore we are unable to guarantee that the food is allergen free. If you are concerned and would like to discuss this further, please contact us before you book.

Special Dietary Requirements

We will try to accommodate all dietary requirements for lunch; where this proves impossible or problematic, we will inform you in advance of the class date.
